Okay! With that out of the way, let’s get to our recap, shall we? This has got to be the worst film I’ve seen in 2020. And I don’t say that lightly because, thanks to the lockdown, I’ve seen a loooot of movies in 2020. Not only does it feature the most naive, ignorant, and just plain brainless character ever put on film, it does so while paying homage to masterpieces like ‘Psycho’. I wanna give Shirish Kunder (of that other masterpiece ‘Joker’ fame) the benefit of the doubt and say that he was going for an ironic, darkly comedic tone here. Try as I did, though, I couldn’t get into it.
I’m surprised that name-brand actors like Jacqueline Fernandez and Manoj Bajpayee agreed to star in this film, honestly. And, also, that Shirish Kunder didn’t end up casting himself. If that sounds like an exaggeration, know that Kunder had to write, direct, produce, and edit this Netflix movie himself. Oh, and he also did the music. So, you know… even though the actors almost definitely did this movie just for the paycheque, there’s only one man you can really blame for this travesty.
